As children, we dream of growing up because we long for freedom. Yet as adults, we often wish we could return to the simplicity of childhood. This contrast exists because our sense of freedom shifts with time, perspective, and emotional growth.
As we mature, we gain independence — but we also learn that freedom isn’t absolute. Especially in relationships, our independence blends with togetherness, trust, and shared understanding. Being together brings a different kind of freedom: the freedom to feel supported, guided, and emotionally safe.
Even when life feels restrictive, our greatest freedom is our choice of perspective. At any moment, we can reshape our mind, our thoughts, and the direction we wish to grow.
This poem expresses that journey — the desire to fly high like a colorful kite while staying connected to the one who offers direction, stability, and love. 💛
